Alexander Russell Webb initiated the correspondence with the Promised Messiahas in 1887 after discovering the invitation of the Promised Messiahas in Olcott’s journal The Theosophist or in a newspaper The Scotsman. This correspondence is mentioned in the Urdu synopsis of Webb’s first letter found in the writings of the Promised Messiahas [Shahna-e Haqq], (Scourge of the Truth).
